Willie Wilson teaches the next generation of young actors and singers the important skills needed for theatre, not just for a continuing career in show business but for life’s upcoming challenges.
His love for theatre and working with children inspired him to develop a Theatre Arts Group (T.A.G.) program, which he initiated at the Westwood school district in 2003 for the elementary and middle schools. The success of the program brought him recognition and support from the faculty, Board of Ed. and P.S.O., which led to an expansion of his T.A.G. program to neighboring districts and a summer camp program.
Shows he has written, produced and/or directed for the T.A.G. program include: Footloose, Guys and Dolls, Legally Blonde, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, High School Musical, Grease, The Wizard of Oz/Dreams Come True, The Wonderful Imagination, The New Principal, Give My Regards to Berkeley, We Can Do It Ourselves, Oh Bugsy, Make Me a Star!!, The Heart of the Game, Beauty & The Beast, Bye, Bye Birdie, The Sound of Music., BERK-GLEE. Programs have been and are being held at Berkeley and Brookside schools, Westwood; Washington School, Washington Twp.; Mendham Middle School; O.L.M., Park Ridge; and Franklin Lakes elementary school.
